Chester Bennington, solistul trupei Linkin Park, a decedat joi dimineață (20 iulie 2017). Avea 41 de ani. Poliția din Palos Verdes Estates, Los Angeles, a declarat pentru TMZ că artistul s-a spânzurat.
Mike Shinoda (co-fondator Linkin Park) a confirmat știrea printr-o postare pe Twitter, și a anunțat că va fi trimis un comunicat de presă:

Chester Charles Bennington s-a născut pe 20 mai 1976 la Phoenix, Arizona. A fost frontman-ul trupei Linkin Park, alături de care a cunoscut succesul. În 2005, a înființat trupa Dead by Sunrise, un proiect solo care a mers în paralel cu Linkin Park. În perioada 2013 – 2015, a fost frontman-ul trupei Stone Temple Pilots. Revista Hit Parader l-a clasat pe locul 46 în Top 100 Heavy Metal Vocalists.
