1968 – Clarence Carter a primit Discul de Aur pentru 1 milion de vânzări ale hitului „Slip Away„. (El a mai primit discul de aur si pentru „Too Weak to Fight” & „Patches„). Clarence Carter este un muzician /solist de soul, orb de la varsta de 1 an, din Montgomery- Alabama
1969 – John Lennon & Yoko Ono au prezentat The Plastic Ono Band pentru prima oara în concert. Apariţia are loc la Festivalul Toronto Rock and Roll Revival. Primul hit al noului grup, „Give Peace a Chance„, a ajuns pe locul 14 in top. La acest festival a fost înregsitrat albumul Live Peace in Toronto 1969 –singurul album al trupei.
1997 – Mariah Carey intra direct pe locul 1 in Hot 100 Billboard cu piesa „Honey” (single abia lansat, de pe albumul Butterfly). Staţionează pe acest loc timp de 3 săptămâni.
2010 – A decedat compozitorul Anton Şuteu (n. 17 ianuarie 1947).
